What is MBSR?

MBSR, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, is an evidence-based program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn to help people manage stress and improve their overall well-being. 

It uses practices like meditation, body scans, and gentle yoga to teach participants how to be present and non-judgmental, which helps with stress, chronic pain, and other conditions like anxiety and depression. 

The program is an investiment in your own well-being. It is a time commitment - taking place over 8 weeks, class meets one evening a week for 2.5-hours and there is one all-day retreat with a focus on mindfulness practices.

The MBSR class offered by Ann Marie deepened and broadened my meditation practice considerably. I appreciated the experiential nature and variety of meditation practices. I also found the ways of noticing my thoughts as well as ways to deal with pain and difficult conversations very helpful.
